Magadan Region to spend 2 bln rbl on reconstruction of airport
MAGADAN, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- The Federal Air Transport Agency has approved design documents of a second stage of reconstruction of an airport located near the city of Magadan, and the government will allocate about 2 billion rubles for the works, Vladimir Pechyony, governor of the Magadan region, said on Tuesday at a briefing.
“Today reconstruction of the Magadan airport is going on in the Sokol village. Works of the first stage were finished. We have already received approval on documents of the second stage. About 2 billion rubles are to be allocated until 2020. This year, we will spend about 180 million rubles,” he said.
The first stage of the reconstruction was finished in 2015, but contractor MDN-Group failed to finish some parts of the airport. According to the airport’s CEO Sergei Zamarayev, the airport will need about 100 million rubles to finish the reconstruction, but MDN-Group said it can spend only 20 million rubles, and the airport terminated the contract.
The reconstruction will fall under a state transportation program, according to which the government is now developing a special Far Eastern sub-program, he said.
